A house fire broke out Sunday morning in Logan Square, leaving a 36-year-old woman in serious condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to a fire in the basement of a one-and-a-half-story home at 2526 N. Harding Ave. around 6:42 a.m. Firefighters resuscitated a dog at the scene, the CFD said.

The woman was transported to Community First Medical Center, the CFD said. She went into cardiac arrest, firefighters said.

The CFD said the fire was out and the Bureau of Fire Investigation was looking into the matter.
